The Meade #777 Off-Axis Guider allows the photographer to monitor the telescope's tracking and ensure that it remains perfectly positioned on the object being photographed. Such capability is pivotal during long-exposure astrophotography.Like the T-Adapter, the Guider couples the camera body to the telescope. It also causes a small amount of the guidestar's incoming light to be diverted at a right-angle, where the star's position can be examined for tracking errors with the crossline pattern of the PL9mm Illuminated Reticle Eyepiece or other guiding devices.
